Mechanism of Action:
Roxithromycin binds to 50 ribosomal subunits and inhibits the synthesis of the proteins in bacteria thus they do not receive adequate amount of nutrient and die.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption: It is absorbed orally
Protein Binding: It is bound mainly to alpha 1 acid glycoprotein
Metabolism: It is metabolized to N-dimethyl roxithromycin
Elimination:It is excreted via urine and feces
